What does this have to do with land use. Everything! One example is district energy. We SHOULD be putting more incentives for district energy in the code. I can’t get into it now but I might later.



What about incorporating it into the mortgage industry reform. For real, not using some hypothetical reference house, but using actual utility bills. Smaller houses, detached houses use much less energy. Add transportation costs to mortgage qualification guidelines and then you’ve corrected some external inefficiencies in the market. And made better cities and reduced energy use.
